I am often asked what to listen to with regard to studying a clear, standard English accent and there is a programme on BBC Radio 4, (broadcast Fridays at 11.30am available to download on BBCIplayer) called ‘ The Gobetweenies’ – a family drama/comedy. It is extremely funny and most enjoyable. If you click on the link you will go straight to it..

Another program that is hilarious, is ‘The Castle’ (broadcast at 11.30am on Wednesdays) but you do need to be quite fluent in English to get all the jokes:

It’s very funny but will be harder to understand for those who are still struggling with the language. However, for natives or those who are bilingual but who would like to sound clearer, this is an excellent program to listen to and will make you giggle.
I hope you are all having a fantastic summer now the sun is shining.
Best wishes and I look forward to hearing you!
